Kathy Davis

Be inspired to make your own designs with Kathy Davis' fabrics
Kathy Davis

From a very young age, Kathy embraced all things creative and entrepreneurial. Kathy doodled. She wrote. She explored. She illustrated. She created. With a deep love and appreciation for art, she embarked on an education degree from West Chester University, along with a master’s degree in art education from Kutztown University, she translated this experience into a successful decade-long teaching career in both art and English.

As a devoted mother of two wonderful children and a teacher with an established career, Kathy still felt something was missing. After weathering a divorce, Kathy felt the time was right to explore her passion for a career filled with her own creative freedom. As she continued to study painting, design and calligraphy, Kathy set up a makeshift studio, complete with a small drawing table, in the corner of her bedroom. It was 1990 and she was launching her own company. Beginning with several lines of greeting cards for an array of publishers, Kathy’s imaginative, whimsical style often depicting natural subjects accompanied by simple and inspirational verse, was immediately embraced by consumers. From there, she began to formulate her personal motto and business mission with two simple words. Her philosophy? To scatter joy.

Kathy now manages a comprehensive portfolio of more than 15,000 designs - a business started in the corner of her bedroom where her creations have grown and flourished, today touching more than 50 million consumers annually.
